TCM Acupuncture

Accupuncture is one of the branches of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), alongside Tai Chi/Qi Gong, Herbology, TCM Nutrition, and others. It has been in existence for thousands of years now and still continues to evolve with numerous recent studies demonstrating its effectiveness. Acupuncture is used to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases.
In TCM, we encourage the free and smooth flow of the body's vital energy or qi (pronounced as chi). Qi flows through various channels or meridians in the body. The goal is to keep the body in balance. Any imbalance like blockages/stagnations and deficiencies can lead to pain and diseases. If the qi is balanced, a person can experience vitality and wellbeing in all aspects (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual).
In acupuncture, we use hair-thin needles to stimulate the free flow of qi at specific points of the body. It is to unblock, release stagnations, and tonify areas that are deficient.
In Western perspectives, it is believed that stimulating acupuncture points stimulates the central nervous system, which in turn releases chemicals into the body (muscles, spinal cord, brain). This biochemical reaction induces a person's natural healing capacities.
In TCM, we aim to work on the symptoms as well as the root causes of patient conditions. It is effective for both acute and chronic diseases.
Patients report relief of symptoms, relaxation, better sleep, stress release, better emotional balance, and a whole lot more.
